The lack of standardized, high-quality biospecimens is widely recognized as a significant roadblock to cancer research. To help meet this need, SemanticBits in collaboration with Washington University and Persistant Systems has been awarded the caTissue 1.2/2.0 development contract. The primary goal of this project is to promote further adoption of the caTissue Suite, encouraging data sharing on tissue specimen collections, facilitating tissue distribution and enhancing collaboration among researchers and clinicians regarding tissue samples and related information. This will be facilitated by refactoring the application to using CBIIT semantic-SOA to expose capabilities as NCI Enterprise Services.
