2018 Roundup

As we close out 2018, SemanticBits reflects on a year of growth and success with a new look, new projects, and an expanding team of talent and skill. So much has happened that we thought it best to take stock here before heading into the new year.

The year began with a refined new logo. Sleek and modern, this logo captures our mission to deliver excellent quality and performance across the services we provide. Shortly after unveiling our new look, in February, we brought the entire SemanticBits crew together for a corporate retreat in Virginia wine country to strengthen relationships among our rapidly growing team, to hear from leadership about our mission and the future, and to simply have a good time. It was great to have all of our employees together in one place. But looking back now, we looked so small. Over the course of the next 11 months, our team grew by over 30 percent!

This growth is due in part to all of the exciting projects we’re taking on. 2018 was a successful year with three new contracts: the Care Choice Experience (CCXP) provider directory, the Provider Quality Data Catalog (PQDC), and Website Data Discoverability & Stakeholder Engagement (WDDSE). We are pleased that CMS has entrusted us again with such important projects, and we’re excited to work with a new client in the CMS Office of Communications. Our existing projects also experienced some growth, with several scrum teams being added.

Our success in winning new projects is a reflection of our quality and performance. But don’t take our word for it. Just ask our clients and users. Feedback from users of the CMS Data Exchange System (DEX) was glowing. In addition, our work on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) brought praise from the Clinicians Champions group and resulted in a great Year 1 report from CMS.

It was, without a doubt, a wonderful year. All of us at SemanticBits are happy with the direction we’re headed in and thankful for our excellent clients and the talented companies we work with on various projects. Most of all, we’re thankful for the dedication, perseverance, and leadership of our outstanding employees. We truly make a fantastic team.

Here’s to more growth and opportunity in 2019. Happy new year to everyone. Onward and upward!
