Version 4.2 of the NCI’s Clinical Trials Reporting Program (CTRP) was released on April 8, 2015. CTRP 4.2 includes a number of improvements to enable the NCI to better track cancer clinical trial statuses and patient accruals and to more fully integrate CTRP with both ClinicalTrials.gov and Cancer.gov. SemanticBits — In partnership with NCI-CBIIT, NCI-CCCT, and Leidos Biomedical Research — has been managing and conducting the software development for CTRP since 2009.
CTRP is a web-based program that is designed to serve as a single, definitive source of information on all NCI-supported cancer-related clinical trials. The CTRP system receives submissions and updates from hospitals and cancer centers and from systems maintained within the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP), the Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP) and the Center for Cancer Research (CCR). CTRP captures information covering all key aspects of a clinical trial — including study design, sponsors, investigators, participating sites, eligibility criteria, trial status, and accrual. The data collected in CTRP is used by NCI to coordinate research efforts and facilitate effective clinical trial prioritization.
