Paul Baumgartner

VP of Digital Health

Paul Baumgartner has had numerous successes within the biotechnology, medical research, and digital services fields. Currently, Mr. Baumgartner serves as the VP of Digital Health for SemanticBits, where he is responsible for managing and maximizing value derived from SemanticBits’s prime contract and key subcontracting vehicles. Mr. Baumgartner joined SemanticBits as a Senior Project Manager in 2008 and has led several successful multi-system integration efforts.

Mr. Baumgartner also has a variety of experience in bioinformatics and computational biology, specifically in the areas of microarray quality assessment, toxicogenomics, pharmacogenomics, molecular diagnostics, protein prediction, sequence analysis, database management, database design, and algorithm development.

Prior to joining SemanticBits, Mr. Baumgartner served as the Sr. Manager of Operations Control at Gene Logic, where he managed the Program Management and Quality Control groups and was responsible for the on-time, quality execution, delivery, and customer service for all genomics products and services, totaling $25M annually.

In 2003, Mr. Baumgartner completed formal post-graduate training in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology upon successful defense of his Masters of Science thesis at George Mason University. Mr. Baumgartner is a PMI-certified project management professional (PMP) and earned his undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from James Madison University in 1998.
