On the heels of a recent contract win with CMS, SemanticBits has been chosen to be the prime contractor on the Provider Quality Data Catalog (PQDC). As part of the same modernization initiative as the CCXP project, this highly visible, public-facing digital service will replace the current data.medicare.gov site to provide various audiences – including health policy researchers, providers and support staff, media, beneficiaries and caregivers, and third-party developers – with different views into CMS quality reporting compare data. Each user persona has a very different need, such as data scientists who want to analyze data across multiple datasets, and providers and beneficiaries who are looking for detailed information about a specific provider or summary-level information.
SemanticBits will implement this digital service by extending the open-source, open-data platform DKAN, a Drupal-based framework that provides much of the desired functionality out-of-the-box. CivicActions, whose team includes original creators and developers of DKAN, will be a subcontractor on this project.
SemanticBits is excited to take on a project that will benefit such a wide variety of users.
